Weight Watchers: My 5% Award!
Just got back from tonight’s Weight Watchers meeting. The topic was how to avoid hunger. We talked about using Filling Foods to abate hunger pangs. Filling Foods are Weight Watchers lingo for foods like vegetables, lean protein, fruit, pasta, cereals, whole grains, etc. I had to state what Filling Foods I liked when Rai, the leader, gave me my 5% of body weight award. I told the group I like fruits, which I do. But upon thinking about it, I can’t help but wonder if eating too much fruit slowed down my weight loss this week. I’m going to avoid fruit for a week and see how I do. Also, I need to vary my exercise program because it’s possible (according to the Weight Watchers materials) that my body has become somewhat adjusted to walking long distances three times a week. I think I will try to ride my bike more, which I enjoy. I talked to my wife about buying another pair of rollerblades because I really liked doing that a few years back but she didn’t make any comment so I guess she doesn’t approve. Anyway, GOOD NEWS! I lost a total of 13.6 pounds in less than a month, three days short of a full month actually. So, I’m below my 5% of body weight goal. My next goal is 10% of body weight which equals 214 pounds and I figure I should reach that by the end of July or August. Rats! I was hoping to be at or below 200 pounds by the end of summer. My overall Weight Watchers goal is still the same, weight number notwithstanding: I want to be able to wear a size 36 waist in pants again. I’ll get there. One meal at a time. ‘Til next week at the same time. Count those points and get moving, all you weight watchers!
