Tate Publishing’ s book trailer

The publisher should be calling any day now to discuss the book trailer for The Antiquarian Chronicles. I did as they asked and watched some book trailers on other sites, most notably YouTube, and made some mental notes as to what worked for me and what didn’t.

What worked:
Moving video.
Action.
Bright picture quality.
Voice overs.

What didn’t work:
Dark, somber tones.
Dark text with dark tones.
flashing pictures too rapidly to absorb.
wasting time with flashy graphics.

Most of the videos I watched were longer than the 30 seconds Tate wants to do. Not sure how effective a 30 second trailer is going to be. Can we get the message across in 30 seconds? Only time will tell.
